I remember waiting for a year or so before posting for my first time. Back then when you'd say something dumb or unfitting you'd just get a "LURK MORE" answer and ignored. Basically, younger posters would just learn the spirit from the elders. But now everyone behave like if it's a facebook for edgy kids.

Been on here for six years. Don't come here as much as I used to, but I'll still blow a couple of hours here if I have nothing else to do and just feel like lying in bed and doing something light while listening to music. I'm typically on /mu/ or /r9k/ (more so the latter) and I'm certain that it used to be better. While I'm aware that I may have just gotten used to/over these boards there used to be a greater variety of content and differing opinions rather than the more homogenous attitudes and values I tend to see now. That being said, there are still great threads, they are just less frequent nowadays - the quality of content hasn't really gone down, just the consistency. .
