I mostly just take benzos to forget about things, but I've tried a few psychedelics.

I want to try DMT one day, but to be honest, I don't really like psychedelics that much. I feel like I've had more bad trips than good trips.

I'm too much of a shut in to get any real psychs although DXM is very underrated, it's more of a disassociative but I tend to trip pretty fucking hard, Just with closed eye visuals instead of open eye ones

Can you describe the differences?
I've only ever done lil bit of speedSpeed,A lot of weed, A lot of Booze and DXM so I have no idea what Psychs are like but I'm very interested in doing them along with shrooms.

DXM (for me anyway) feels like a warm darkness with body high kind of vibe that shows up like clouds suddenly appearing on what was previously a sunny day, and when it does show up your normal verbal thinking is eclipsed and you can just stare at your surroundings and really take them in contrast with when you're sober and you'd normally be having a bunch of internal monologue running through your mind.
LSD (for me anyway) feels almost like you're taken in the exact opposite direction, so that instead of feeling less there and more detached, you feel hyper-there and your mind goes into overdrive having random thoughts about everything in weird ways you don't normally think in terms of.
Insofar as there are visuals on DXM, it's the laid back, impersonal, virtual reality feeling kind of visuals that you get when you close your eyes. I'm normally a shit visualizer when sober, but on DXM it's like my visualization abilities are enhanced a hundred fold and I can mentally walk through buildings I've been inside in real life with seemingly very detailed scenery displayed.
With visuals on LSD, it's less of that impersonal visualization and more like as your thoughts and sensations get more chaotic and weird you start to lose track of what's going on and psychedelic cartoon sequences start popping up in a similar way to how dreams probably work where your brain loosens up from the previous day and your waking mind gives way to the primordial randomness it's built up on.

I've done acid lots, but I never understood the talk about "realisations" or changing perspective on life. For me the only "realisations" I've had sound stupid when sober and I haven't really changed opinion on anything at all. It's a fun time, especially on smaller doses, but I can't say it's really been a positive or negative effect on me.

Though it's probably my mental health too. I always get moodswings on acid and go from feeling better than I ever have, to suicidal, back and forth. Always feels like it messes with my perception of self and reality a lot, tons of disassociation, sometimes ego death, feelings of nothing mattering or existing even after I start to come down. Disassociation is weird, sometimes I wonder if I'm real or who I think I am even sober.
