OP I'm also bipolar and have suffered horribly at the hands of incompetent doctors.
You can sue your current psych for malpractice. His negligence effectively cost you your job. Sue the shit out of him and use all of the money you get on good health insurance and a good psychiatrist that will give you meds that will help.
I'm personally taking lithium to control my mania and it has saved my fucking life. Please get the help you need and ruin the fucker that screwed you over.
