Yes OP you should try it. People are often alone at parks trying to look for friends, just like you! Or if you see a group of friends, ask to join in and hang out!

Yeah, it will most likely be a lonely stroll. I highly doubt anyone would approach me and I certainty will not approach others. I wish things weren't this way, but it seems they are.

Just getting out more in general will help. Anything can happen, but it probably won't.

Maybe if you make it a habit and see other people there regularly then you'd be fine to approach people, but most people aren't there to talk to strangers.

Don't listen to music either, listen to nature and the people around you. As stupid as it may feel, force yourself into a more spiritual mindset, it'll make you feel better, trust me. Think about the beauty of the world and try to let go of all the cynicism, even if just for a 20 minute walk. This is something that everyone on this board needs to do AT LEAST once a week.
