NZ here, depends where you live. Auckland has more of a big-city vibe and Wellington is more like a large town, you can walk from one end of the CBD to the other in about an hour. There's a bunch of rural places but they're a mixed bag.

New Zealand seems like it's one of the only geographically isolated countries that's still relatively first world, which makes it seem really exotic. I hear living there is expensive though.

There are good aspects of living in Idaho, and I do enjoy it, but ever since I road tripped all of Oregon a few years ago I fell in love with Oregon. Boise is really cool, and I wouldn't mind staying there, but I like how more diverse Oregon is as far as nature goes. But yeah, I'd still live in Idaho compared to a ton of other states / countries.
