how to stop getting freaked out about determinism?if its even possible
idk
somehow determinism makes the journey pointless and the end is only what matters

Reality is most likely not deterministic. Casual Determinism breaks down in many areas of Physics. From Newtonian Mechanics to General relativity, there are many places for Stochastic or "unbounded" events to occur.

It does seem to be the emerging consensus in neurology though.
The universe isn't deterministic. We are just predictable.
>>38512985
what is determinism
>>38513050
Stochastic events are just another name for ignorance. God does not play dice.

OP,
I had this problem. Chances are determinism will eventually end up making you not care about determinism. I hardly think about it now, and when I do, I chuckle at the fact that I'm just a super-complex chemical reaction being expressed in space-time.

What even is the point in discussing this? Philosophers are seriously the stupidest fucking people on the planet, spending years arguing over random bullshit that can never be objectively proven.
>>38513050
reality being slightly random doesn't change much, t b h
>>38513432
hopefully this occurs in an original fashion way
>>38513496
i cant stop t b h

Look into traditionalism and hinduism.
Alternatively look up string theory, the world isn't deterministic, but probabilistic and that's marginally better.

You fucking mouthbreathing mongoloid out of all the things einstein ever said you pick the only wrong one to repeat
go get cucked by a cold fusion crank you soft condensed matter beta
>>38514522
>we don't know the mechanism to why it happens so it's random ;^)
>>38514829
>Nature can't be random because it looks deterministic if you don't look too hard
try harder brainlet
>>38513496
we may not objectively be able to prove things, but we are also unable to DISPROOVE them either which is why I think holding one definite philosophical belief is bullshit, however it is thought-provoking/interesting to hear about a variety of beliefs
>>38513496
>trying to wrap your head around existence is stupid
Okay, off to bed with you kiddo
