>person goes out of their way to do a favor for me
>feel immense guilt afterwards

Why feel guilt?
They purposely did that favor outta their free will.
Unless they took a bullet for you or something.

They could have spent that time on someone or something more worthy of the attention and energy.

Well you should feel good that you was worth that attention and energy at all.
Feel this man, I can't stand anyone doing anything for me, it makes me feel awful.
I hate people buying me things, giving me money, just doing anything for me.
This includes my parents. The guilt and shame after any of these things is too much
>>38505946
They purposely did that to increase their ego on anons expense
people are so selfish and when someone does me a favour, it is disgusting

>guilt and shame
No, you're just worried about how you can make up for it so you don't owe them forever.
If you do it quick, it's over and you don't owe 'em shit anymore so they can't guilt you into anything.
Kind of feel the same thing, when you get help you want to repay it somehow but it's not always possible.
>want to compensate them in some way or lessen the burden of their favor
>they get angry
