Is Asperger's syndrome becoming a "normie" thing to be with shows like Netflix's Atypical seemingly normalizing the more tame part of the spectrum? What is your first impression on this show? Could it potentially be a positive thing for neurodiverse community?
>>38497360
ahahahahahaahahahahahhahahahahahaahahaahahahaahahahahaha
>>38497360
>neurodiverse community
So..... the spergs?
>>38497360
>neurodiverse community
the fuck is this tumblr bullshit
we're autists here
People still basically don't know what the fuck it is or how to identify it. Only correlate it with certain interests like anime, trains, etc.
>>38497360
Like everything else, its just a thing for normies to point at and go "I support this" and then go about their lives being hypocrites.

>>38497376
>>38497369
>wow this guy used the correct term, what a faggot
Sorry I didn't use the autist slang of the day to fit in, nebros.
>>38497360
Almost no one here is really autistic or asperger
People here are fucking weak willed beta virgin fuckwits who use autism as an excuse for their horrible misanthropic, bitter behavior.
>>38497488
you should be sorry you piece of shit
>>38497532
That's just obsessing over the details, though. Obviously SOMETHING is causing their behavior. Most people don't end up like robots.
>>38497567
Yes, something.
Their fucking laziness.
>>38497590
What caused them to be lazy?
>>38497591
They just weren'tbeing themselves :^)
>>38497360
I'm fucking sick of romantizing autists in media, are there any realistic movies?
>>38497532
I was diagnosed when I was 6
>>38497591
They are fucked up, they chose to, they chose evil, man is born with free will and they chose to indulge in sin.
Sloth is one of the great 7 evils/sins.
>>38497640
This is why i said almost...
>>38497663
>man is born with free will
So you're saying cause and effect isn't real? That's a pretty big scientific revelation. What evidence led you to that conclusion?
>>38497532
This really is the truth, I score incredibly high on aspergers tests and was supposed to be tested as a child but was not.
In those threads maybe 1 in 30 have aspergers tier scores.
>>38497488
Fuk off to whatever shithole you crawled out of.
>7488
Close enough, I'll take it.
>>38497360
Never really liked how moves to inclusion have worked in practice.
"Acceptance" of depression for example has lead to little more sympathy if you explain that you're depressed and have to chug down pills to not try and top yourself. If anything as it's become more normalised the expectation you can just work around it becomes much larger.
Same with autism. Here comes the "Ah yes, I understand you have autism and i accept your label but you're being rude by not emulating my facial expressions" express.
>>38497532
>someone that does not get affected by social pressure, social shaming and refuse to give a shit about anybody else but them
>weak willed
Keep working wagie, my neetbux would stop coming without your money being taxes for welfare
>>38497730
That's the problem; it's sympathy, not empathy.
http://www.lifehack.org/465044/7-intricate-differences-between-empathy-and-sympathy
imo there's a startling lack of empathy going around compared to sympathy, since it's more narcissistic of the two (in terms of the outsider).
>>38497842
(*unsurprising since sympathy is the more narcissistic of the two. Bad grammar, oops.)
>>38497640
I haven't seen any realistic representations. It's always Sheldon-tier or literal helmet head bangers.
>>38497532
Spotted the in denial autist.
>>38497640
Does Rainman count?
>>38497430
This, you will never be a part of society
Normies have this thing where they have to explore uncharted territory in their lives by making it light hearted and humorous.
I believe this is part of the reason why over the years r9k has become filled with normies. They seem something dark, that they can't fully grasp so they barge in and start trying to own the territory while stomping around and making dumb jokes. This is the normie's way of coping with the abyss.
by making a show like this they can cover the ground of aspies. They don't have to understand the pure hell that most aspies go through on a day to day basis and that most of them turn out to be complete failures who are neets virgins into their 30. they can package them into a neat little sterilized tv show and feel like they understand the world a little more
the normie's view of the world is like a series of cardboard cutouts that they mutually agree is reality
>>38497931
I'd consider Rainmain as the normie autist-stereotype. The problem with ASD is that you can't really have a good representative of the disorder because of how diverse it can be.
>>38497640
lars and the real girl is a comedy but the dude in it is probably as close to a real aspie as I've seen. also virgin mountain
