To be honest, I can't give you a reason.

My dead-end salary job sucks so much ass, between the horrible government-but-not-government atmosphere to the bullshit politics and drama to the complete idiots of managers to the totally and wholly unfulfilling work that I'm on the verge of quitting. I barely do anything all day; mostly I just browse plebbit and other sites. Yet everyone thinks I'm some kind of "rising star" in this horrible and utterly pointless organization. Place is soul-sucking.

If you don't have attachments, don't have external responsibilities or whatnot and hate your job - don't force yourself to stick around. You'll end up like my 50 year-old coworkers doing the same job after 20 years who look and sound dead inside. No reason to throw away life like that.

I would suggest to keep looking for alternative methods of making income, but sticking with a horrid job is nonsense. It's just fear or anxiety talking, really.
