I've been on 4chan since 2006/2007, and people will still call me newfag. Yeah, sometimes there's egrecious newfaggotry, but mostly it's a useless non sequiter. Just post good content that other people would like. If you do post something indulgent for the sake of delicious (you)s, try to respond to posters doing the same thing. If you contribute to the board, only a dick would call you a newfag and nobody would agree with him anyway.

I've been on here for 2 months consistently and I feel like I've been on here for fucking eternity. Anyone with eyes and 70+ IQ could blend in without being called a normal/newfag. Might be an outlier because I liked the tales of 4chan and board sim threads on YT before I got here and I wanted to cut out the middleman and roam the threads myself. I tried /pol/ before /r9k/ but the mindless racism and alt-right buttfuckery got to me and I find it's a little more even-keel here.

i mostly lurked /b/ and /v/ back in the day, and /b/ used to be way, WAY edgier. i think i was in the thread of the guy that murdered some slut (or gf I'm not sure) by asphyxiating her. And then he was posting in the thread how the next part of his plan was to get some cops to shoot him. it was surreal when he posted pictures of the victim and only few people were concerned of OP actually not lying.

i never read the news articles related to the incident.

/r9k/ is one of the later boards I discovered, because when I first found out about it, I just thought it was a /b/ 2.0 (with people being forced to be original). But then I saw it mentioned on wizchan, and discovered /r9k/ is pretty much a /depressed/ board (to some degree). this has been my homeboard for like half a year.
