why do people in China make cheap knock-offs of existing properties?
I've seen so many games that are just cheap knock-offs of American and Japanese games (which are available in China at that)
I've also seen famous TV shows (which premiered in China too) just completely remade as Chinese, with no real adaption or creativity. Not like a movie like The Departed, which changed the source material to match a different audience. It's basically just a recreation of the exact same thing.

To become best means to copy the best items that already exist.
In their mindset the person with the ability to copy the Mona Lisa has achieved the same expertise as the original artist because they have copied it exactly. Original doesnt matter.Chinese only care because white people will make fun of them of them.
