I really liked SH 1 and 2.
Sadly i am a pc fag and could never get a decent machine to run 3 and onwards.
What i loved about the hame was the ambient music, and the long unhabited spaces that didn't have monsters or anything action related in the fog world.
As for the lore i went as far as watch Jacob's Ladder, read some blogs here and there and even search for the comics.
To me 1 and 2 had the most relatable stories to both young and mature players.
I wish to some day have the time and disposition to play them again and update in the rest of the saga.

They are not thay good lore wise. Mostly a bunch of side stories and that is that.
Maybe yhe.onky one i liked was about a dude, looser artist, that somehow ended up living there and getted along with the monsters, will leave it at that so i don't spoil it for you.
I was saded that they canceled silent hills tho and that i wasnt able to play P.T or shattered memories.
I was also obsesed with the fukuro video.
Also have you listened NIN Came Back Haunted? It's video is made by David Linch and well it's he is one of the strong inflyences of team silent.
