I don't know about circumcision, maybe it's that belief that uncut is dirty. But that's another subject.

For abortion, it's mostly because it gives them the power to have unprotected sex without having a child afterwards (which is bad because it kills a future baby while it could have been way easier to just put a condom on the guy).

Also, it's a protection in case protection didn't work, or in case of rape, genetic disease, etc.
