Home gym or lifting during the less busy hours is ideal. The worst part about normie gyms is that they play awful normalfag music with niggers hooting like chimps. If you can find a gym for weightlifting nerds it's generally some decent electronic music, rock/metal or dead silence.

Starting strength is a good introductory manual for noobs that want to become strong.
Defying gravity and convict conditioning are pretty good books if you are too cheap to buy a gym membership or equipment and still want to be fit. It's all calisthenics and gymnastics.
