Since I have no friends I usually drive around and talk to myself. Anyone want to internet friends? I'm probably too weird for /r9k/ too but it's worth a shot.

Talking to yourself tends to be a lot better than talking to people, in long run.

I agree. I think it's an irrational feeling of obligation to try and make the effort every now and then, even though I know where it leads.

Sometimes you just don't want to talk, but you'll get messaged 24/7, so it all starts to take the piss out of you
Had a friend on steam that would talk all the fucking time, not even about stuff I liked either, so it was especially bad; after a while it all started to die down, and he just randomly blocked+unfriended one day ,without a word, it was for the best, and I respect him for that

Depends. What are your interests. You gotta try if ya want friends. That or just get a dog or a bird. It's better and easier.

I like retro gaming/microcomputers and niche programming stuff, not interested in big data/artificial neural network/machine learning/etc. like all the meetups near me, I like the odd shit. My music/tv/film tastes don't really overlap, I just like what I like. I have a cat, he's a Maine Coon mix, cool little guy.
