Sometimes I will remember something stupid or selfish I did 30 years ago and cringe. I have a mantra I'll use to make the bad feels go away. Sometimes it's a horrible thing, sometimes it's nice. Like, I'll say, "poop is delicious and nutritious" or "monkey juice!" (that being the mystical substance that makes my baby sister's cheeks so smoochable. Lately it's been a 16-syllable phrase (I mark the syllables off on my finger joints with my thumb) about the 3/10 shehemoth who dumped me in 2009: "marry me, Sallie/you fat slut/or fucking take/it in the butt".
