What do you guard? I'm a retail cuck and would love to do something like this but I'm very small and nonthreatening. All the security guards at my job tell me the job is the easiest money they've ever made, they don't have to do jackshit. I would love to be a security guard during the night at some kind of office building or something where the workers aren't around.

Can you bring stuff with you, like handheld games, etc? It would be cool to use the downtime to practice drawing.

I am a night manager in a hotel, posting at work right now myself. The hotel I am at is in the city's busy downtown and gets a lot of drunks so that can be a lot of fun watching them stumble around. It's only me and I never see anyone on my shifts and if they do they just want a blanket or something. Perfect robot job desu, get paid to drink the hotel's surprisingly good coffee and shitpost. It pays alright for my needs and comfortably supports a studio on my own where I live

A coworker told me that the company used to have mansion site where you would just sit at the door or front gate and occasionally patrol perimeter; no people or anything. The company lost the site because some dumbass didn't answer the phone at the front desk when the owner of the mansion called.

Basically, the best way to get it is with some retail experience or customer service experience, but you can get into a daytime shift and then wait for a night time shift to open. Some hotels call it an "auditor" position. I got mine by working a few months at the front desk then when the position opened I applied for it.

Look up a website that does online classes and get the 8hr course. Then once you get hired the company will give you the 32 hour training so you can start work.

Getting a gun permit isn't worth it. It's hundreds of bucks in annual training. You won't get paid extra for carrying a gun. If you work loss prevention and detain a guy, he can claim you threatened him with your gun and he'll have a solid defense before cops unless you have cameras proving him wrong. An armed job that pays more than unarmed will not be given to you because you have no experience with gun. Most people working better-paying armed jobs are ex military.

In short, armed security isn't worth the training, liability, and same pay. Maybe it's different in other states, but not in CA.

Yep, retail is hell on your feet because you're standing the whole time. Be sure to get yourself some good running shoes, usually if you go to a shoe store and tell them you have to stand for 8 hours straight every day they can hook you up with some good suggestions. Stocking is a pretty decent robot job, especially if it's overnight and you don't have to deal with customers. Bonus if your coworkers are lads you can bant with. Good luck anon!
