Why is it that im perpetually going through happy-depressed cycles?

No, im normally first in a state of blessing. I feel like i have the answers of everything and destiny favors me and the world is on my side. Then i get this thing one day or so when reality is not quite there and the voices of everyone get to me from a place far away, like a white noise. Then bam, months of feeling like everything is empty and sad with no reason. Repeat.

Sounds like me. My psychiatrist is saying I don't fall under anything specific but I probably have some depression under the surface that comes up sometimes. He recommends therapy.
