Karate (and other Eastern Martial Arts) are all gimmicks. They spend more time teaching you stupid fucking lessons on discipline and respect than how to actually fight.

Kyokushin is the best form of Karate as far as actual fighting goes since sparring and black belt exams are done full-contact with no protective gear. There are loads of K-1 and MMA fighters with Kyokushin backgrounds.
