Do you people actually feel isolated? I've never felt like that, and through the internet I've connected more with Europeans than people in nz or Aus.
The only thing that really changes things is timezones (which is why I go to bed at 4am), server ping and fullness and shipping costs.

The internet is so global that being rural west coast shouldn't be any different than rural Arkansas nor should Auckland be different than London.
