I'm a neet
Can I learn computer programming from home on my own and reasonably expect to get a job where I don't need to leave the house?

>Can I learn computer programming from home on my own
Yes, but you'll have to be intelligent and motivated.
>and reasonably expect to get a job where I don't need to leave the house?
Maybe, you could do freelance stuff. Expect to make peanuts if you swing it.

I don't know what the expression "swing it" means so I guess I'm not that intelligent
>>38378216
'Swing it' means to make it happen or get it to work. If you have trouble with idiomatic language, then programming is an area where you're less likely to encounter problems with it.

can you really have social anxiety if you have been in a relationship and had sex before?
>>38378254
Thanks for explaining.
If I'm unlikely to support myself with freelance programming from home, is there still a good chance for me to get a job outside my home as a self taught computer programmer?

You need certs and a god tier portfolio.
Expect to get cucked by everyone with a degree.
>>38378291
Do you have a better suggestion for a way to sustain myself while working from home or doing a job that I don't have to interact with a lot of people?
>>38378273
Depends what country you're in. If it's the US, then it's pretty unlikely unless you are in one of the lower-population or education states. If you're somewhere with a less saturated market, then maybe?

>can i learn computer programming from home on my own
yes
>and reasonably expect to get a job where i don't need to leave the house?
three ways
1) be literally so talented nobody gives a shit because holy fuck you're good
2) get certs and have a good portfolio
3) go to college
hope this helped :)

you can write articles online for money
you can become a cam whore
you can buy and sell ebay junk
you can draw furry porn

Learning comes from
>hard work
>studying & practising, and doing so in a scheduled way
>the ability to sacrifice much of your time today and passing on immediate short-term gratification, so that it pays off later
all of which are things that NEETs cannot do or live by. Stop being a NEET.

I'm trying to stop being a neet anon
>ywn be the one person your socially anxious gf finds comforting to be around
>>38378522
It's better to accept that your dreams and fantasies are just that, but don't deny that you want them. Just keep calm 'til the robots get here and everything will be fine.
>>38378134
desu you could just make shitty unity vaporware and patreon up like that yandere dev cuck then sell out when push comes to shove because "it's too time consuming to do" even tho u make $58,000 a year on patreon
i am a self taught programmer who makes a ridiculous salary and wants to help neets.
low level competition is fierce, being fully remote means you will make garbage wages.
however, i find that i actually like being social with other introverts ( i like when long silences are not uncomfortable ), so if you want to do this consider working in house for a few years.

>You want to change
>You're willing to try
You've got a good start.
