Yep, this. Smartphones changed society at its core. You cant do anything anymore without someone taking videos/pictures about it and posting it on social networks, or they're simply just sitting there out of the present location, zoning out on whatever they're doing on their phone.. but I'm not going to be a hypocrite, because I do it too.. It just changed everything. It's a double edged sword. Smartphones are super useful, especially for things like GPS directions and emergencies, but it changed many other things for the bad.

2007 was the year I was supposed to graduate. I moved to Hawaii. I had my first kiss. I was also a suicidal mess. But it got so much worse in 2008.

Funny thing, I had my first job in 2007. I have my second legit long term non under the table job here in 2017. It's kinda like I'm making my second attempt at this later in life. I like looking at it that way.

Anyway Obama was fucking fantastic compared to all the shit we're facing now. We being the poor. The working class. Especially NEETs. Under Obama I could comfortably be a NEET and not worry. Now not being able to get neetbux is the least of my fucking worries. What if I face a health crisis? What's going to happen to me? I am struggling just to be able to afford to buy a car. So I want the fuck out of this country.

Who cares about all that pop culture bullshit? I hate the big bazinga theory too but I never see it. We have this thing called the internet. You can illegally download almost any game ever released for almost any platform and play it for free. Nobody is making you play call of duty you dumb whiny cocksucker. You can watch any TV show or movie you want too. No need to pay for anything except internet, storage, and playback devices.

Impossible nowadays thanks to intergrated batteries. I've had my iPhone 6 for a year now and I'm starting to notice my battery draining really fast now for doing the same things I've been doing all this time. But the thing is, you cant just replace the battery, it's built-in. So you're forced to buy a new phone in 2 years on average.

I came to the same conclusion abouth the timeframe of things going shit. The 1991-2006 is basically the zentih of modern pop culture. The early-to-mid 00s still had that 90s-esque positive pro-fun culture. 2006-2008 was the time that culture changed the gauge to the current one. I blame cancerbook and smarthphones which changed the mode of human interaction and the ever-increasingly flowing stream of junkinfo. I remember actually being able to do something proactive with people. Now 2/3s of the time is spent on [incert social media]. 2007 was a pretty good year for me. First got into anime and was really enjoying it. Near the end of the year first started posting on 4chan. TF2 and The Witcher came out. Honestly I don't really understand this 2007 meme as a particular focus of things going wrong. Of course some particular bad things happened then. But if you look at things from a political-cultural point of view, things have been rapidly declining since the 60s, and gradually declining since much, much longer ago.
