The Finnish government is legalizing slavery.
The slaves: unemployed, native citizens of Finland. (note: not the immigrants that flood in)
Finland is a small country where everything is robotized and companies outsource everything into China.
This has lead to a big problem where a huge portion of citizens are now unemployed.
The funny part is how employment centers are dealing with the situation: making unemployed people work for free.
Some still think it's a good idea, I mean people can't live off welfare forever. They have to do something to compensate for it, right? That's problematic, though, since there are literally NO JOBS.
The government has created a concept called "rehabilitative work" which you are forced to participate in, if you've been unemployed for too long. It basically means you work for organizations - for free. There's no job interview, nothing. Everyone is automatically qualified. If you don't do it, your welfare is cut off, so there's really no choice. The biggest problem is this: organizations and companies are already taking advantage of this system and instead of hiring actual workers, they accept the endless flood of "rehabilitation" workers. If one of them is a drug addict, pick the next one. One of the slaves will eventually get the job done. Many in Finland have already noticed that these days nobody gets paid for work anymore. It's alarming.
