I find my daydreams to be more interesting than fiction. There's nothing non-fiction that I'm interested in, anymore. I was thinking of reading through The Disaster Artist.

Reading gives my mind too much freedom to wander off and end up thinking about all the mistreatment I had to endure. After reading half a page I will be boiling with hate. I have to constantly overstimulate my attention with internet or video games to ignore my 3rd degree soul burns, otherwise I'm going insane in a really short amount of time.

I don't know exactly what it is but my enjoyment of reading is oddly tied to my drug use. Something about being able to focus on something long enough for paying attention is just as rewarding as the effort of concentrating . And for me it's really difficult to actually find an author good enough to do that for me, I don't know if it's a need to find a genre that captures my interest, or a storyline that I personally want to explore.

Don't even get me started on non-fiction.

I used to love reading books as a teenager. Then something happened. I started thinking with my dick, wanted to hang out with mates and smoke weed, would watch films and shows, and play games instead reading. Now that I have stopped doing all that, I tried to start reading books again. Can't read past the first page. Can't concentrate. Can't sleep. Can't enjoy anything.

What happened to me..

Aside from the internet, I'm too lazy to read even if I have a bit of a backlog. Maybe I'll get around to it now, thanks OP.

You're rushed with things like porn and video games that rape your mind and are accessible within a click, your brain adapts to it and normal things stop being fun for you. You read a page and your brain refuses to continue to read because it's already used to instant gratification.
Same shit with food, if you eat fast food and candy all day you won't be able to routinely eat fruits and veggies
But if you don't then fruits would be as tasty as candy
