i used to had dreams like that.
at the begining i felt and overwhelming sensation of nostalgia of the great times i shared with those people. But with the pass of time i learn that i shouldn't feel nostalgia or sadness , but gratitude because i got to learn and share my life with those friends over the course of my life.

if you really miss them why dont you try to talk to them?

I'm 20, moved 5 times, left behind people who mattered a lot to me due to reasons that are beyond my grasp
I have dreams like that all the time.
I feel like I betrayed them, I know that's not the case and I came to terms with it but I can't help but feel like I let them down and they're still mad at me.
