What I've gathered is they seem to recruit people of a broad expanse of backgrounds. You'll be competing with the other ex military dudes for a spot, but guys with no experience will be taken in too.
The fact that you've served means you likely meet all of the basic qualifications however you'll be competing against others down to things just like your motivations and personality.
Good luck, doesn't sound like you'll be in much trouble if they don't take you.
Don't tell them you have a girlfriend or anything like that, you won't get selected because they will assume you'll run off before your contract is over.
