Because when the monsters come for you at night it's harder to escape with the door shut.

Except for me the monsters were always outside the door, so I've always kept it shut and locked.

I've closed my door for as long as I can remember. When I was 18 it was 0% out of fear and 100% out of not wanting my mom to see me jacking off at 3am in the morning.

Man I know

I am a giant fucking pussy. I am a 27 year old who still lives at home (I have a wageslave job though) and I get scared really fucking easily.

I have to go to bed before my parents because if they sleep I am scared someone will break into the house. If they fall asleep before me I stay up all night. I remember last year when they were fighting for a while and my mother was sleeping at her sisters and my dad was drinking himself to sleep at 7pm I stayed up for 6 days straight

I have tried recording the sound of them sleeping to mimic it but it doesn't work.

I have also tried waking them up on purpose, and in fact used to go to their bedroom and jump on the bed if they slept before me so I could fall asleep but now they have a lock on their door.
