How long did you have that one for before it ran away? Did you feed it regularly?

If you did and had it for a while, theres a chance it'll come back eventually because they'll view your house as a food source.

OP here. Update for why it died. The vet said she had severe traumas. Most likely, the people who dumped it away were beating it up. Fuck this world and retarded people in it.
