Everyone is forgetting that modern cities don't even make up a hundredth of a percent of the area of the planet. Sure, shit is getting futuristic, but the cyberpunk atmosphere ends abruptly when you get a few km away from city limits.
Most of the population of the Earth has probably never been in a building taller than 3 storeys.
Some parts of papua new guinea haven't even been mapped yet.
The planet at large has remained overwhelmingly unchanged.

Just to put things in perspective.
Our super advanced space rockets are a fart in the wind compared to the sheer size of the planet (well, nukes are an exception)
