It doesn't allow the people who are most qualified to get the job, it gives positions to whoever can look some HR bitch in the eye, keep their hands in the exact right position, lean in at exactly 22.5 degrees when being spoken to, and make up the best lies.

6th job I was too efficient and got let go for "avoiding calls" because I resolved our customer's issues too fast. Supervisors were telling me I was doing a great job and they understand my intuition, it's just quality control/higher ups don't like that I don't keep customer's on the line longer than they need to (doing small talk)

I have a software development job where I show up late and/or drunk to work 4/5 days a week and no one gives a shit. It's pretty great.

Nope, I have known the owners for a long time and I'm friend with both of theirs sons so I trust them. I also know I won't be fired anytime soon because my contract lasts at least for 3 years (and I don't live in murrica so they can't simply fire me for no reason). To be on the safe side though I keep as many information on what I do to myself, so there's no way to fire me unless they want to be left unable to keep everything running as it is and fix shit.
