Is the mid 2000's era the pinnacle of mankind?
I often check some background information on a medium I like, be it music, vidya, movies/series, etc. and often see that it's from 2005/2006 or something in that range.
Of course it's nostalgia that makes me like that era, but hear me out. My theory is that we weren't too spoiled with technology, it was just enough to make us content, while wanting more and being hopeful for the future. We weren't being overloaded with (social status) information and normies were nowhere to be found.
What do you think of this era and why is it so great compared to now?

Those were good times.
I was young, 17 to be exact, there was possibility or at least it felt like there could be.
Now all I have to look forward to is doughnuts and replaing old games, the newest of which is from 2009.

It's because 2005 was as objectively fucking shit as any other year, but it just so happened to be a peak time in your life.

Things were getting shitty for decades and even centuries beforehand. But I generally think the 1980s-early mid 2000s was the peak of society, the equilibrium point of technology, liberalism, culture, and order. It's only downhill from here.
> Is the mid 2000's era the pinnacle of mankind?
Nope. No such thing exists.

No. Anything after 2001 was shit. The late 90's were the pinnacle of western civilisation. The mid 2000's were especially shit because the war on terror started, the global economy shit itself and it's not going to ever improve to the point it goes back to the way it was before.
You're just looking at it through rose coloured glasses probably because you're a millennial and were a teenager in the mid 2000's, so you have some nostalgia for that time period, but don't realise how shit it actually was.
