I do this as well, but I put a bunch of pillows around me when I sit there. Feels safe

I used to punch pillows too when it got too much. The exhaustion had a cathartic effect, but just like crying, it loses its effect and then I fall back to just curling up in a corner.
It's acceptable when I get sleepy fast, but when I can't sleep it's the worst. I just want to die in my sleep
