In what way, anon? Trans people will stop talking so loudly when they stop getting disowned and/or murdered at record high rates. So no, a good number of people do care, and by care I mean they actively hate trans people. Gay people were a lot louder in the 70s, but now that most people do care less about gay people instead of virulently hating them, and just let them be, "gay culture" is willingly dying. Most trans people just want to be treated as courteously as everyone else, and for other people to use the name they like to be known as, it's not that hard.

The point of clinical therapy, as anyone in the field would tell you, is to improve the patients' mental well-being but not at the cost of any actual harm to society.

The problem right now is there is no pill to turn anyone cis (non-trans), and no proven method of conversion therapy. Yes some trans people have mental illnesses like bipolar or BPD, which thet need therapy for. But there is no evidence that gender dysphoria is merely an effect of bipolar or BPD, or any proof that treating those illnesses will completely cure dysphoria.

Therefore, the only treatment we have right now, for dysphoria, is transition, which works to plummet their suicide rates if you compare post-op to pre-op.

There is a meme going around that transition increases suicide rates- this is not true, it is a blatant misintepretation of a swedish study which found that post-op still have a higher suicide rate than the general population (pre-op was out of the study's scope). The study didn't compare post-op with pre-op.

There are plausible explanations for why post-op have better mental health than pre-op, but still worse health than the general population. Possible reasons include lack of familial support, comorbid mental illnesses, past issues (trans people are disproportionately homeless due to disowning, and have significant violence rates against them), etc.
