After the military figures out robots that can be trusted to apply lethal force on it's own in confusing situations, then it's still decades away as the private sector begin to use that technology and figure out how to make robots that can make decisions using variable amounts of force, as well as robots that are complex enough to verbally de-escalate a situation so no force is required. All this is required because a waifu robot injuring a bully will end up in lawsuit hell.
