I'm going to leave the internet.
It has been a wild ride, and I can honestly say that it led me to nothing. The only valuable content available on the internet is in the form of scanned books. Everything else is intellectual poison. There is no valuable intellectual, no enriching community, nothing that will help you grow in any consistent way. What the internet will teach you is how to be an amateur and a naive commentator.
Regardless, I really have no excuse to be here. Sure, I'm ugly, shy and highly disfunctional. My chances of making it in any field out there are slim, but if I stay here the chances go from being low to being non-existant.
At the very least I have the privilege to be a NEET in a country where education is free. I have no excuse to waste so much time here.
I won't be patronizing, and I won't pretend to be an example to be followed, for I know that some of us here are truly doomed. I just wanted to blog about it and tell it to someone, and to be honest at the moment you guys are all you've got.
I wish you luck and prosperity, and I genuinely hope that everything will turn alright for every single one of you guys.

You are 99% right. The days when I limit my internet browsing I'm way more productive and happy with myself. Download books and movies. Do the occasional wikipedia search or youtube cooking video and that's the best of both worlds imo.
I'm joining you from tommorow. Today I drank some beer and I can't help myself but I do have some goals and I do intent to hit them. When I visit r9k it's like I'm in a trance and days pass by whilst doing nothing.

This place raises legitimate concerns for the people here (the isolation of people who aren't well adapted to society) but instead of building each other up we compound on our weaknesses, anybody who makes slight progress crab bucket mentality kicks in. In a way I understand why, because this board is now filled with "normies" that will laugh at your new found ability to adapt and will laugh at you for you treating as a big deal doing something so "normal".
