>just got an interview for late night shift at a local supermarket
>pay is 7 pound an hour and it's only 16 hours a week
>wanted something that wasn't full time but the money isn't all that great
>trying to either move out or save up for a trip abroad
why is every job so low in pay? it's gonna take me 5 months working this job and it's only for 2.5 months, I'm gonna have to find another job after again
when does it get easier guys? is there a way I can live alone without having to work 40+ hours a week, with that sort of hpw your barely home and feels like a prison sentence
Are you moving to Japan?
>>37976540
>tfw 10.50 an hour and 25-30 hours per week
>3 days off per week
>pays all my bills and 500+ extra every month
feels good desu
>>37976540
if you are willing to house share you can survive pretty easily on a part time job that pays 700.
>>37976540
Nah not in todays economy unless you get nepotismed into some whacky ''''charity'''' or (((public))) job.
I'm grinding my ass to pieces running so I can just get told what to do in the Chair Force later desu lad I don't see a better alternative.
t. smart but lazy
>>37976570
no why?
I've been thinking of planning a trip for a week or two and if I can find a more stable job i think it'd be nice to move there, but that's way in the future and probably only %2-3 chance it'd happen
>>37976640
What job and country?
>>37976540
>7 bucks an hour
this sounds fictional tbqh
>tfw slav
>tfw the average wage here is 3 euros per hour
>tfw I make 2.50 an hour at a part time job cause I couldn't even score a full time onethe full time workers at my place get paid 2.70 eur
>>37976752
bar manager/uk. I started minimum wage and after 15 months the manager left and they gave me the position.
>>37976788
>Bucks
>Same as pounds
It'd be 8.90 dollars an hour, plus you get paid less but I bet your houses cost less than here aswell, it's not like I'm working a shit job and being paid loads of money, it's a shit job with shit pay, I can't move out on my own unless I'm earning at the bare minimum 1200-1400 pounds a month
>>37976718
Stop with the smart but lazy shit, smart people are lazy.
I work at a Dairy Queen and I make $10.75 and the .75 is pretty much a buffer against the tax and bc I'm a student I also don't get taxed as heavy. So I pretty much get like a 10 flat an hour. It's lit eat shit smelly NEETs
Daily reminder that people on benefits in the UK can claim up to 25K a year. I recently got a degree in radiography and I won't even make 25K a year while actually working full time, including night shifts and weekends.
>>37976540
Because introducing minimum wage just gave companies a lower limit to reach so now they all pay with the lowest they can get away with.
>>37976960
> I can't move out on my own unless I'm earning at the bare minimum 1200-1400
this is literally not true unless you live in some shit hole like london and if you do my condolences.
>>37977070
I live in Essex, it's nearly as bad as London, gets harder to get a job now because everyone has degrees that it's watered them down to a basic thing
At my last job, i worked overnight at walmart in produce. They started me off at 12/hr. Because my last job was also retail and i had it for about 2 years. "Job stability" they said.
It actually wasn't that bad.

Welcome to the wagie club anon. You in California?
>>37976540
>night shift
>7 pounds
what the fugg
are you 17 or something or why can't they pay a proper wage?
>>37977136
as its been mentioned already by >>37976709 you can easily move out if you are willing to house share. you can find places for 400+all bills included meaning you will pay just for your food and other necessities. eventually you will save enough money for a studio flat rent which is where true comfyness begins.
>>37976540
You'll probably be given a part time contract after its up.
I would get back into study or something if I was you, either that or family connections job wise.
>>37977136
Well back in the 70's you could work a pleb tier job and still clock up enough to buy your own house.
Can't do that these days since our industry was destroyed in the 80's, you pretty much need a degree now to get anywhere.
Especially in the public sector, hell even the police are edging in degree requirements.
>>37976789
>bar manager
>10.50/hr
>not even full time
LOL?
>>37977169
I'm 19, minimum wage for me is still 5.60 an hour and goes up to 7.20 when I turn 21
>>37977034
are you from canada?
do you think it's fun when you tip over the blizzards?
>>37976540
At least you can get an interview. I've applied to at least 10 different places online and still haven't gotten a response. I guess no one wants a NEET.
>>37977478
I get off monday to wednesday but work 5pm-10pm friday/thrusday and all day saturday/sunday. I have to take stock counts/answers to any stock loss/buy stock/train staff/hire bar staff. I wont deny the fact I got very lucky.
>>37976540
Who is this semen demon I keep seeing
>>37977579
the fuck are you bragging for.
Other people get paid $75/hr and work twice the hours you do.
You will be working till you die.
>>37977640
It's not dollars tho, also we're not really talking about people who make 100k+ a year, were talking about getting a job that pays just enough to live on your own and have a bit left over for other stuff
>>37977579
Your job sucks, you're being paid a pittance and what bar manager fucking finishes at 10pm on a friday then works a double Sat and Sun?
>>37977640
whats the point of getting having lots of money if you have no time to spend it? you have time once you retire? you will be old worthless really.
>>37977677
I like it, its very minimal work and its a quiet town. I have plenty of money to spend for whatever I need. not sure what else I could ask for.
>retail supervisor
>15$/hr
>there are people out there busting their asses for 10.50 while I get paid to do retard impressions while making fun of our corporate overlords
Did anyone come up to Alaska
