I think Brendan Fraser is well aware of the meme and how much of a joke he became and got completely ruined mentally by it.
Before the meme he was just a bit depressed in his interviews which was normal for his situation, but now he's acting like he's insanely insecure about everything he does publicly.
He's acting like he has exposed himself to long periods of social isolation, he avoids eye contact, is hunching his head down in submission, looks completely uncomfortable and is afraid of speaking out his thoughts.
