This. I have a shitty retail job but I do wonder for what reason am I doing it. I spend money on nothing so even a shitty job like that builds my savings. For what reason do I save money if I don't have any friends? I'm 24 with no job currently. Previously the only job I had was 3 years working at mcdonalds (and I never even got promoted.) I live with my mom in the same house I've lived in my whole life. I did start taking classes at community college but it's too little too late for me I think.

Not me, but someone I used to know. He must be 24 now.

He's has autism, Tourette's, and diabetes. He started getting homeschooled in 7th grade because of bullying and his health.

His parents are scared to death that he can't function like a normal human being (he can't), so they discourage him from getting a job. So they're letting him live with them and play video games all day until they die, I guess.

It's literally the easiest job i've ever had. I work 4am-noon so the majority of the time I'm just standing at a dead table. You don't have to be personable per se but it definitely helps getting tips. I just smile and go woohoo when they win and "aw" when they lose and people seem to like me. Bare minimum customer service. I see the other dealers at this hour and they are old and jaded people, so I guess it just goes in my favor i'm one of the few young people for those hours. The work itself is easy, basically just follow casino protocols such as not turning around, not taking your eyes off the money rack, announcing shuffles, dollar amounts of change, just common sense stuff. Otherwise it's just basic fucking math day in and day out. You get so used to it you don't even "add" cards anymore, it becomes sequencing. Paying out payouts becomes the same way. You learn everything just by doing it. I was an extreme nervous wreck of anxiety when I first started, obviously shaking hands, making mistakes, and throwing up from nerves during breaks. But it all went away and now i feel actually confident. It really helped me break out of my shell.
But seriously look up the nearest casino around you and see if they offer blackjack classes. You don't need any prior experience or degree. You can even have arrests on your record. The class is free until you finish it so if you decide you don't like it you won't get charged. Once you're hired they just take a bit out of your paycheck to pay it back, my class was 500 total so they just do 50 a week for 10 weeks.
You play a game for a living. It's fun but repetitive. Though I am a people watcher and that's honestly one of the parts I love about the job, at the grave hours you get some of the weirdest, interesting, and just different people everyday. The people missing teeth playing at the same table at table minimum with someone with a suit on playing $300, dealt cards by the shy quiet guy,all enjoying a game together.

If you hate people it could honestly be a good job too. The amount of money i've taken, the amount of lives i've destroyed, taking the same people's money day in and day out when they're a cry baby gives me such utter satisfaction. It's mostly me taking their cry baby money then putting on a fake smile to feign empathy, it is extremely satisfying taking faggots money. Then you get actually cool and funny people at your table that just makes your fucking day great, even better if they tip.
Another bonus, you can practically make as many mistakes as humanly possible and you won't get fired. The floor supervisor is there to fix your mistakes. You can really only get fired for not showing up, showing up late, or letting someone blatantly steal from your rack. There is dude in his 60's who is practically a new dealer daily. He's still there.
I'd say give it a shot! Even if you're older, there was a 40+ year old guy in my class and he fuckin loves it. Not to mention you can learn the other games (you should) and you'll find a game you truly love, mine is bacarat. Who knows, your lifes calling could be a roulette or craps dealer. Won't know till you give it a shot.
