Oh, so that's what's going on. I never joined the new discord so I was completely in the dark, I only slept for 6 hours and woke up to the server being dead. How far back were they talking? I spent all day yesterday building a villager breeder, if that gets baleeted I'm going to cry.

I've been thinking about joining a minecraft server for a while now.

Do you guys have any server recommendations? Preferably ones with admins that aren't power tripping autists that end up wiping the map every other week.

The admin on the server being talked about here is pretty chill, he's just not available often. He modded some kid that helped him with plugins and said kid went on to go rogue about a week later and shoah the old map along with the backups somehow, so starting a new seed was the only real choice other than just abandoning the server entirely which he didn't want to do. I really like this server a lot compared to the other ones being shilled here lately, the only real downside is it's populated almost entirely by NEETs so the game gets rushed through pretty fast and the people rushing it tend to be kind of cliquey, not wanting to share portal coords outside of their circle and stuff like that but other than that people are pretty nice. Hopefully it gets back on its feet again soon and you can check it out, I'm not sure what this downtime is about right now.

Absolutely do NOT join an r9k server, this is one of the most neurotic group of people on ANY of the boards there is. Only obvious cancer like /mlp/ or literally tumblr feminists would be worse than r9k. Even if you aren't racist or political, join a pol server where some AUTISTIC FAGGOT like nokomono isn't in charge. Sucks too because some guys were going to pay for their own server after that but it looks like they bailed.

All technical issues aside, I like the way it is now. People are nice to each other, there's minimal pointless PvP and more cooperation, plugins aren't too intrusive at all while being good enough to prevent major griefing without doing dumb shit like outright disabling water/lava buckets, you can build swastikas and whatever since nobody really cares and there's some trading going on even though it doesn't REALLY need to happen people do it anyway just to interact. Everyone just seems pretty happy when there's no server issues.

I briefly tried all of the other servers advertised here and would agree with your assessment regarding those though, everyone was straight up cancer on all of them and it made me realize how rare it is to find a decent group like this to play with.

Step 2. Only allow legal copies of the game
Step 3. Make it whitelisted
Step 4. Require a quick chat with people before they get whitelisted so you can easily keep rules 1-3 working

There is no such thing as griefing in minecraft.

Hide your chests if you don't want people to steal from them.
Hide your base if you don't want people to destroy it.
