This is my life now in 2017 more or less. I live in a shitty old apartment building that used to be a hotel in the 1930's (my unit is a bachelor) and it's infested with cockroaches. The neighbors are always fighting and the police are here every other day, there are sirens often. I'm drunk all the time so I don't mind though.

I like this apartment. The landlord can't even remember who I am, what unit I live in, I have to remind him every time I need something fixed I can't do myself. I don't know any of my neighbors, I know one guy keeps nigger dogs like pitbulls or something, there are some Vietnamese guys too, and one of my neighbors I suspect is a hikokomori like me. I'm nice and anonymous here, no one gives a fuck about me, no one bothers me.

Boric acid, and just keeping the place sorta clean. I see like 5-10 roaches a week, which I pick up with tissue paper and flush down the toilet. It's not a terrible infestation. If you're a filthy ass motherfucker they'll swarm your place though. That being said I frequently leave dirty dishes in the sink overnight but the boric acid repels them for the most part it seems.

I really don't give a fuck how many roaches there are though just so long as they don't spoil my rice or my oats.

I have nightmares about cockroaches and bugs pretty often. Once I had a dream where I had a giant pet cockroach that was the size of a small dog like a chihuahua, and it got sick and I was afraid it was going to die. Sometimes my dreams are just of piles of writhing insects and centipedes. That's the alcohol, if you get drunk every day your dreams get pretty freaky.
