I miss my steam buddy so much, i knew him for 6 years, only on the internet.
We were both highschool losers when we meet.
We played tf2 for over 4000 hours together, than doto for 2000, we were the definition of nolifers.

I've abandoned my friends many times before, OP. I usually, after a while, make a new Steam account and move on. I've invested too much money into my current one to move on. I gave them some bullshit excuse and privatiased my profile and removed them. Not all of them, but most. A few re-added me and i accepted out of guilt and apologised. There's only a handful of people I actually want to keep but holy shit even right now I'm so goddamn lonely, but I remember that even when I had lots of friends all they served to do was satisfy my urge to bother people with messages. When I have lots of friends I feel bad and when I have few I feel bad. I think it's just a natural part of being starved of social contact IRL and I fucking hate it. I wish I could be happy with just a couple or even zero friends but I can't. I want to start adding new people again but I'd feel guilty. I'm so pathetic.

I had a dedicated group of online friends for years (in the early 00's) and with mine I think it was a mutual abandonment. Them going on to get real friends and real lives, and me increasingly becoming withdrawn and socially retarded. I had 2 friends that were both in cail while I live in NC on the other side of the country, but met on ps3 back in middle school and we stayed friends till past high school but we talked increasly less and less

Then fast forward till 2 months ago when we are all 21, one of them was going with the other to see their aunt in my state and told me I should come met them. I drove 3 hours to see them and when we met up we went out and drank some but honestly we were just completely different and now we dont even really talk.
