dude you should treat fl studio like a video game just have fun with it and wait for the progress all the producers you hear about are doing this for years don't expect to be as good as them in a short period

It's easier when you play an instrument or know some theory.

Also there's a shitload of tutorials on how to make cool sounds, but composing is much more important if you wanna make good music.

I know that feel way too fucking well. Every single time man. The fucked up thing is when I don't actually want to make anything I wind up messing around on piano roll out of sheer boredom and creating my best shit as it slowly formulates into a full-blown unforeseen song, and when I really want to create a song and have a clear vision I can't create shit to save my life. Lately I haven't even tried because the music comes to me in the moment and it's easier to translate my feelings into improvisation on the piano rather than the painstaking process of FL Studio. I miss the days back in 2011/2012 when I didn't know shit about anything and I had fun creating stuff just to create.
