So I've never purchased a gun on my own. My parents are also super liberal but I dont want to deal with real assholes without a tool to kill them if they interact with me in a threatening way.
The realist in me realizes that mommy is wrong and I should probably look at guns but I dont want to lose mom's free rent
Anyway, ehat are some good entry level guns to look at for someone who just doesn't want crackheads to steal their shit?
I was in the same spot. Don't get one if the home owner tells you not to. Watch out too because they can flip their mind on it. You don't want to get stuck in a grey area where they said you could, you did without informing them, then they flip back to saying they don't want that.
Go back to the catalog, take the "r9" out of the url, and hit enter.

Glock 19 is probably the best all-rounder gun. If you're more in the home defense mindset I'd try to get a ruger 15 or a m&p 15.

Also mossberg 590 or maverick 88 if you want a shotgun

You in the US? Post a throwaway
I'll mail you a cheap reliable pistol for a real cheap price. Got shotguns and assault rifles too
just do it. buy an old gun like a mauser rifle. and you can tell them you like old guns or you want to get into target shooting or something. I bought one secretly and when my mom found it she flipped the fuck out, tried to take it from me, but I explained it like that and eventually she calmed down. worst case you can tell them you didn't know it was such a big deal and that you'll sell it back. but if they accept it then you can buy a revolver or something and they should be fine with it.

>I don't want to deal with people unless I can kill them
you ok?
Here's my advice. Find a local gun shop/range to take some safety and training courses to show you dedicated to being a safe and responsible gun owner. Then have a serious discussion with your parent(s) about firearm ownership and if they're still against it then respect their wishes because when you still live with them ultimately it's their way or the highway. If it's still that big of an issue then start working on getting into a position where you can move out on your own.
