Millennia of progress led to the ability to work these easy, non-lethal jobs. Now, for the sake of novelty, everyone wants to go back. It's almost cathartic how, now that we have the jobs a medieval peasant or a prehistoric hunter would give an arm and a testicle for, we want to give them back. Would it really be better if we got to live in some other historical time period?

Autistic rant aside, work has never really changed. Unless you were rich, you were always working your ass off and sacrificing your free time for the good of a nebulous larger organization. Hunter, farmer, office worker, you're serving someone above you and being undervalued for it. Until the very idea of money changes, this is our personal hell.

I get bigger by this because this isn't a 40 hour work week. This faggot has an hour long communte. No wonder he's depressed.

I live literally across the street from work. Takes me 4 minutes to walk over. I have had showers 10 minutes before my shift, drank a coffee and jogged over to punch in the clock. I don't understand why people hold in to such garbage jobs, do yourself a favour and make it easier for yourself.

This is partially what my mindset used to be. But, I worked pretty hard (despite myself a lot of times), and now I make a bunch of money in advertising.

I make $93,000 a year, I own my house and my car, major tech companies take me out to expensive dinners, our summer hours include one day of working from home a week, and I have unlimited vacation.

Now, I know for some people (whether it be because of lack of talent, or opportunity, or whatever), this isn't achievable, but maybe when I'm in my 40s I can retire, since I'm not spending my money on shitty little kids or a divorce.

I guess it's all a matter of perspective.

Nice quads.

No, money doesn't make up for the time, but money can enhance some later time. I rarely ever tried pulling more shifts for more money, or reputation, I just worked hard in my hours there.

But now, the money that I made can be used in unique ways that I couldn't if I was just some poor dude with a shit job. I just spent five days in Hawaii in a super nice resort. I went with my friends to Nashville last year and met some amazing girls. I never have to be concerned about eating what I think sounds good, or if I can save up enough money for something I've had my eye on.

It's a lot better than being completely fucking poor and watching anime streams all day, or trying to pirate games to play on your six year old computer you can't upgrade.

I think a lot of people are miserable, normies hide it well, but getting fucked up every week is not a sign of well being and happiness, we're all running from invisible obstacles. I saw it with my own eye's, I've done it.. they get fucked up on the day of the month drug and get as fucked up as humanly possible, I've yet to meet someone who is truly happy, the environment we're currently in is horrible and all of processed crap we breathe and eat to survive in this rat race is slowly crippling our mental and physical health, but why would I stop when I've got a 30min lunch break and I really really need that black hot coffee in that chemical enduced styrofoam cup used to save 99cents on the new profit margin, only does the ultra rich get to escape, whole foods is popular for a reason, being a middle class slave is literally cancer inducing

kinda nice, though. To have the veil of modern life torn away and realize that you live as most everyone did: in an unnatural struggle for resources in which you are low-man on the pole. In the US, I've always felt to be in a sort of prison. It's so easy for things to spiral out of control. If you forget to put your new license plate sticker on when you renew your registration, you get a ticket. If you fail to pay fine, you get a court date. If you fail to make court, you get a warrant. If cops enforce the warrant and you refuse to leave your home, or you retaliate, you get justifiably shot and killed

kinda neat, huh?
>>

This is why I'm investing in crypto so I can escape wageslavery. It's not a fucking meme, working IS slavery. No one is happy until they retire.
>>
>>37858405
what if they legislate against it? You crypto is how ISIS funds their operation. Not true, but who cares? It's on a facebook feed tomorrow and in no time at all the "Terror Coin" is a hot topic. Pretty easy to get EU and US legislation passed against it then

you do hate terror, right anon?
>>
How do people even change their life from being wage slaves? I mean sure I might be able to save a couple of months but inevitably something will happen and I'll need that money on whatever breaks in my life again.
I was born poor and will probably die poor.
Here's the kicker, this life of poverty was chosen for me by my mentally deranged mother. Single mothers can be the worst humans on earth, but you'll never hear this opinion outside of places like 4chan. Everywhere else you'll hear how brave they are even if they did a piss poor job of raising children.

I think it's too late for them to do anything about it now. If they do find a way to legislate it the price would only go up. This is the only opportunity I'll ever have to leave the workforce so I'm putting everything I have in it. If they do somehow manage to entirely ban it then I'll just work the rest of my life like everybody else does, but if it continues to grow I'll be able to comfortably retire in 5-10 years.
>>
>>37858585
you misread that anon
he said legislate against it

>>
>>37858585
if the majority of people see it as a negative, it'll be dropped very quickly. You think people are going to want to trade in units associated with terrorism or whatever trick they use? You can't win against a government. You'll never outsmart them, they have no empathy. If they see meme coins as a threat (and they do) they will either control or eliminate them (probably both). And you're missing the point
Even if meme currency shoots up in price (which it won't) and it's worth more, the fact that there's legislation against it means you'll never be able to convert it into something that you can use
>>
>>37858684
they could do far worse than ban it. They could make it so that in ten years, people formerly associated with crypto will be praying no one finds out so that they can get a job. Think "Bitcoin: The Currency of Human Trafficking" or some other baseless puff piece. That's really all it takes

>>
I'm not saying you guys don't have a point, I've felt the exact same way before. But really at the end of the day it's just bitching about nothing. How are you going to not work and survive? Very few people get to live in first world countries purely on the government's teat and I think those that do are literally living the Pinnacle of the human experience. They get the reward for our species evolution. Having first world convieniences like internet, air conditioning, grocery store, a hot shower, video games and drugs with no job is seriously the best thing possible to achieve. The greatest kings and pharoahs didn't have it as good, especially when you consider free unlimited porn.

Other than that though, yes everyone has to work and everyone has always had to work and as far as we can see everyone will always have to work. Complaining about doing things you don't want to do is like complaining about gravity, or having to go to the bathroom. It's just a reality of existence. It's not wage slaving or society or NORMIES or technology or anything. It's just existence itself. You can't just relax and have fun all day every day it doesn't work.

Unless you're suggesting you want a fantasy reality where everyone has to do that but you, in that case fantasize about it all you want.

The problem is we don't have enough fucking robots or androids to do that shit for us right now.
People complain that it would take away jobs from people but they don't realize how much cheaper it would allow for goods and other services to be.
Companies wouldn't have to worry about legal ramifications with droids or spend money on their insurance. They wouldn't have to give them time off EVER.
Hourly service jobs would be dirt cheap because the droids wouldn't have to be paid. You wouldn't have to worry about them fucking shit up during a job to fix something of yours and if they did it could possibly be refixed for free.
The droids knowledge of any job would be absolute and could be updated en masse. They would know any and all language so you wouldn't have to worry about fucking Pedro and his fat wife Monica not understanding what the droid is saying about the service it offers.
Robots are the next major step towards at least a semi-utopian existence. People are just too stupid to understand that right now.

LMAO this fag has it easy! Id kill for only 40 hours a week. Try working 60 or 70+ per week, every week for months on end. 10 hours a day, 6 to 7 days a week. I wake up at 4:30am, drive over an hour and get to work around 5:40, start at 6:30 and get off at 5:15, then drive over an hour to get home at about 6:20. I then have about 2 or 3 hours until i go to bed around 9 or 9:30, then wake up and do it all again.

This is why drugs and alcohol are fucking awesome, hoping they'll give me the strength to kill myself one day.

for most people, yes it is. our civilization is a great thing but it requires a LOT of manpower to maintain it. the only people who will get to experience a fun life is either those who leave society or those who excel in it. so we need a lot of people to live completely normal/boring lives.

That's my life, don't blame work for being miserable, it's just how life is. One might wonder why people keep forcing others with the burden existence.

Dude how can you blame your parents? You realize they had parents too right? You cant blame anyone but this horrible system we have in place that values money over health.

It's really a sign of mental immaturity to blame your parents, they tried their best no matter what you think.

I am a graphic designer on vacation currently, and I took the vacation to focus on creating my web portfolio website in order to move to high-paying job in a big town and get away from the current rural in-house office and living with my parents, but I keep procrastinating, wasting time shitposting on /pol/ instead of focusing on the work.

Please help me, I am so fucking ashamed it's 1,5 weeks into my 2,5 vacation and I STILL haven't gotten around to actually creating the website. I've literally spent entire vacation playing Total Wars games, shitposting on /pol/ and occasionally drinking WHILE shitposting.

My family doesn't give a fuck about this, they have life of their own and if it was up to them, they wouldn't mind if I were to live with them until I am 40, but I know it's fucking degenerate and at age 24 I should know better and work towards getting a job outside my home town.

Someone PLEASE GIVE ME ADVICE I am so fucking broken and down right now. I feel as if I have betrayed myself for having been wasted my vacation thus far.

Designer babies will be a thing long before total automation. In a future where having children naturally will be outlawed due to passing on bad genetics, and where everyone is smart, beautiful, fit, and lives for 100p years no one will be willing to work these jobs. Society will collapse before total automation is even a thing.

sure but

>go to work
>talk with coworker friends
>try your best at work and educate yourself so you can get a promotion
>get a promotion
>have bigger salary
>travel during your vacation days
>workout when you get home
>go out with friends during the weekends
>meet a girl
>fall in love with her
>move in with her
>go with her on a vacation
>retire
>die

is this it? This is all that life is?

I have nowhere really to "go", my old friends have moved on with their lives and when I talk to them, I find nothing in common with them, except one old friend who is cool to talk to, but he is cucked hard by his own gf who doesn't allow him to meet with the boys.

My only option really is to push myself so I can move out and get new friends from co-workers and stuff.

I understand, but in my case, it's eastern europe, and my town is full of old people or schoolkids, there are no 20-somethings besides some white trash single mothers. I have no future here, no perspective. LITERALLY the only good thing about my hometown is that my current job pays moderately well, the nature around here is nice and I know my way around here, but that's it. I can't even find a 20-something girlfriend from here that isn't an instagram whore (not trying to slutshame or w/e just stating a fact).

Go out with friends or SO in between. Take holidays. Retire. Pretty easy to break the cycle.
