a lot of parents seem to develop a massive ego too. All the power of creating humans and having them live in their place goes to their heads. And because the kids grew up like that, they'll do the same thing to their kids and spread this idea around that parents are somehow higher people. Hence why people of any age who don't like or don't speak to their parents are automatically derided for it.
