>character becomes a meme after you stop forcing it
>they even changed his name
such is 4chan
>im a time traveler trying to warn people of the future
>nobody believes me
I believe I was the first person do this meme. I posted in several threads after I saw Captain Phillips "Look at me, I am OP now." or "Look at me, this is my thread now." but no one really got the reference. I remember one anon replied "This should be a thing." A few months later normies were posting it everywhere.
>I made the Captain Phillips pirate meme :D
>"No you didn't it's from Captain Phillips"
>:(
I once tried forcing Powdered Toast Man. It didn't work.

It's a really mixed feeling for me.
On the one hand, I feel really happy because people like it and enjoy it but then I feel guilty because I feel the urge to tell people I made it so they can tell me I did a good job.
>>37838898
>see guy make post
>think it's funny and post it a few more times
>it catches on
>made the fad but not really

I like this.
I helped push a silly meme that might be considered normie by most of the underage users of r9k, but it gave a significant amount of anons hope for improving their lives.
We helped each other because we all created the idea of sharing the meme. Feels nice to think we each have so much power in one tiny corner of the Internet. The only problem is when the meme spreads to normies and metasizes into a tumor.
