I had something similar actually happen a few weeks ago.

I work at a university bookstore in a student union building and I was taking my break eating a frosty in the food court. This white dude and black girl walked up to me asking me if I needed them to pray for me. I said no and they walked back to their table annoyed.

Then a few days later I was sitting in the library and some guy walked over, threw a piece of paper on my table, did this really self-satisfied smile, and walked away. I opened the paper and it said "I believe in you."

They think of themselves as little fairies who wander around sharing their tremendous magic with us lesser plebs. It's hard for me to imagine being so conceited.

Whenever they do this to me it makes me feel horrible. There's something so aggressive about it, like they are taking an actual nice thought and cheapening it to the point of sarcasm.
