If I understand correctly, frequency of a radio wave is how frequently a wave completes a cycle.

I'm messing around with a browser radio thing and the frequencies coming in look like pic related, where each station is transmitting like a range of frequencies, and you have to narrow the filter to get include the whole thing for the voice to come in clearly.

Not really sure how to articulate my question, but... why/how are multiple frequencies being transmitted? How can a single wave have multiple frequencies?
