Wash your face daily
Exfoliate every once in a while if you can
Moisturize your skin if it's usually dry
You can try to use astringent to get rid of some of the bacteria

If it's not a matter of your skin being dirty/oily then it is likely hormone related and not something that you will really be able to prevent
