Is it possible to fall asleep in snow in the evening and just dying? When the first snow falls I will try this, but dont want to freeze couple of bodyparts away..

That's a beautiful way to kill yourself.

It is definitely possible and hypothermia can indeed lead to a peaceful death, but you've already highlighted the problem with it: If anything goes wrong or you're discovered, you could wind up missing a few fingers and toes.
I doubt you'd be able to fall asleep knowing that you'd die. I can't go to sleep knowing that I have to make a phone call on the next day, yet alone fall asleep knowing that I'd die.

more like missing hands, feet, ears, nose, and dick
I'm going to drown myself in a cold river nearby when it snows. There is no way I can be found, as it's pretty far from any other people.
Burying yourself in the snow can actually keep you warm(espec since compared to just standing out in the wind). This is why Igloos are a thing.
So you'd definitely need to be wearing little/nothing and be impaired(maybe by a lot of alcohol/drugs.
It'd be pretty badass if you weren't found until Spring.

It's really easy when you are piss drunk. You will feel warm and comfy even though your body really isn't. A Girl a from a neighbouring town died that way.

Yeah this. A friend of my father's a doctor and he said if he had to kill himself it'd be a bottle of scotch and sleeping in the forest.

If you're woken up you'll lose a few body parts but hypothermia is a wonderful and peaceful way to go otherwise if that does not happen.
You'll get chillblains and lost a hand or two. It's a really painfil death.
No more suicide talk. Let's have a comfy winter thread instead.
